How the weekly lottery works
- 1Complete GE levels
Each completed level of 16 encounters earns two lottery numbers.
- 2Choose numbers
Select earned numbers from 00 to 99. Duplicate selections are allowed.
- 3Post before Sunday night
Entries must arrive before the current Guild Expedition round concludes.
- 4Match the final score
The last two digits of GoE’s final Guild Expedition score determine the winner.
§1. Eligibility
Every guild member who participates in the current week’s Guild Expedition is eligible to enter the Guild Expedition Lottery.
§2. Entry Requirements
For every completed Guild Expedition level (16 encounters), participants may claim two (2) unique lottery numbers ranging from 00 to 99.
| Completed progress | Encounters | Numbers earned |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 16 | 2 numbers |
| Level 2 | 32 | 4 numbers |
| Level 3 | 48 | 6 numbers |
| Level 4 | 64 | 8 numbers |
| Level 5 | 80 | 10 numbers |
§3. Number Selection
Participants may select any numbers from 00 to 99 earned through their completed Guild Expedition levels.
Numbers may now be selected by more than one participant. The earliest post shall be recognized as the original claim, while any later matching selections shall be recorded as duplicates and governed by the applicable provisions below:
- Sir Walter’s Rule applies when a sponsor and a guild member share the winning number.
- Amendment §67 applies when two sponsors share the winning number.
- Amendment §68 applies when two or more guild members share the winning number.
- Jaq’s Doctrine of Originality applies separately to Jaq’s additional 5,000 FP Sponsor Award, which is available only when the winning number is held by a single guild member.
Participants are still encouraged to choose unique numbers whenever possible, both for clarity and to avoid triggering unnecessary Forge Point litigation. 😊
§4. Entry Deadline
All lottery numbers must be posted before Sunday night, prior to the conclusion of the current Guild Expedition round.
Late entries shall not be considered, regardless of excuses involving forgotten collections, family emergencies, rogue cats walking across keyboards, or unexpected Forge Point surpluses.
§5. Determination of the Winning Number
The winning number shall be determined by the last two digits of the guild’s final Guild Expedition score for that week.
Any participant holding an exact matching two-digit number shall be declared the winner.
§6. Official Prize
The winner shall choose one of their own Great Buildings for the prize. The selected level should preferably be freshly opened, with no existing Forge Point contributions, so that all five sponsored positions can be funded cleanly.
the winner receives standard 1.9 funding on all five positions plus 500 additional Forge Points—100 bonus Forge Points from each of the five lottery sponsors. 😊
Adopted provisions
Supplemental Rules and Adopted Doctrines
Sir Walter’s Rule
Sponsor and Member Duplicate Number Provision
If a winning number is selected by both a lottery sponsor and a guild member, the sponsor shall double the prize awarded to the guild member’s designated Great Building.
This rule exists in recognition of the ancient and honorable guild principle that sponsors are never permitted to benefit from an administrative coincidence without first being made to pay for it. 😊
Amendment §67
Sponsor-vs.-Sponsor Duplication Provision
In the relatively rare and highly alarming event that two lottery sponsors select the same winning number, both sponsors shall immediately enter into ceremonial FP warfare, wherein each party shall attempt to out-donate, out-generous, and otherwise financially inconvenience the other.
This noble conflict shall continue until one sponsor admits defeat, both sponsors run out of patience, or the guild unanimously declares them delightfully reckless and financially irresponsible. 😊
Amendment §68
Member Duplicate Number Provision
In the event that two or more guild members select the same winning number, the prize shall be awarded to each qualifying member in full.
The Guild Lottery Committee has determined that encouraging generosity is considerably less paperwork than explaining why someone should lose simply because they happened to share excellent taste in numbers.
Members are, however, strongly encouraged to exchange exaggerated congratulations and politely accuse one another of copying before happily collecting their prizes. 😊
Jaq’s Doctrine of Originality
Jaq’s additional 5,000 FP sponsor award shall go only to a winner holding a unique number.
Duplicate winners will still receive the normal lottery prize, but Jaq’s bonus shall be withheld in the noble pursuit of originality.
The Guild Lottery Committee recognizes this doctrine as a valid sponsor-specific policy and applauds Jaq’s ongoing efforts to promote creativity, independent numerical thought, and the occasional agonizing decision over which number to choose. 😊
Final Provision
These rules shall remain in force until amended by future motions of the Guild Leader Board or superseded by an even more entertaining idea.
The Guild Lottery Committee accepts no responsibility for sudden bursts of generosity, unexpected Forge Point windfalls, excessive laughter, or the formation of entirely unnecessary parliamentary traditions. 😊
